The Natwest T20 Blast is Back

July 13, 2017
The Natwest T20 Blast is well under way with the usual 18 teams competing for the 2017 title. An influx of international stars from around the world will ensure this year’s competition is as thrilling as ever. This year’s line-up also includes a number of T20 specialists, a growing group of players focusing their careers on mastering the shortest format of the game.

Surrey are this year’s favourites and will be desperate to pick up the title having recently lost in the final of Royal London One-Day Cup for a second successive year. Their star- studded line-up will include the powerhouse of Kevin Pietersen; KP has spent the last few years of his career on the T20 circuit dominating bowling attacks around the world. He will be joined by the experienced Kumar Sangakkara, who has already amassed an incredible six centuries this season and the explosive Aaron Finch, captain of the current Australian T20I team. In addition, Surrey fans can look forward to seeing talented T20I all-rounder Moises Henriques, ensuring that the Kia Oval will be a hotbed for T20 action this summer.

The Birmingham Bears also have an exciting mix of English and overseas talent with the skilful Ian Bell leading the side. He will be complimented by a host of stars including hot prospect Sam Hain, England international Chris Woakes and tricky Kiwi spinner Jeetan Patel. Edgbaston has always been a fantastic place to watch cricket but there is something special about a sunny evening game of T20 with a packed house in the heart of the second city.

Elsewhere, fans can look forward to seeing a whole host of Kiwi stars including the ageless Brendan McCullum, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi and several others. Hampshire have also retained the services of Shadid ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi, still one of the most exciting players in the world, even at the age of 37. In terms of home talent, fans can expect to see the likes of Alex Hales, Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan regularly clearing the ropes.

After a sweltering start to the English summer, the rain seems set to stay away and this year’s T20 Blast promises to deliver a feast of big-hitting, stunning catches and exhilarating run chases. Don’t miss out on the chance to see the stars. Keith Prowse offers official hospitality packages to the Kia Oval (starting at £139) and Edgbaston (starting at £99) including a two-course meal and a complimentary bar of beer, wine and soft drinks.
