With the ICC Champions Trophy approaching, fans booking corporate hospitality for the matches at the Kia Oval and Edgbaston have much to be excited about, and those watching England can now see who is in the squad.
The England and Wales Cricket Board has named the squad for the summer one-day internationals (ODIs), which begin with two matches against Ireland and three against South Africa before the Champions trophy itself.
A 14-man squad has been named for the Ireland games at the start of May and 15 men for the later matches, with Jos Buttler making up the extra man once his duties in the Indian Premier League are over. Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes, who are also playing in India, will join the squad for the South Africa series in place of batsman Ben Duckett and fast bowler Steven Finn, who are lined up to face Ireland.
The squads include the return of Durham fast bowler Mark Wood for the first time since last summer, with the paceman having undergone more surgery to solve his ankle problems, while seamer David Willey is back after the shoulder operation that caused him to miss the recent ODI series in the West Indies.
National selector James Whitaker said: "We have made encouraging progress over the past 18 months in white ball cricket and the squads selected reflects consistency and gives options across all disciplines.
"It is pleasing that Mark Wood and David Willey have returned to full fitness. They add variety and quality to our bowling strengths and David’s ability as an attacking batsman is also an important element for us."
England's recent ODI form includes a 3-0 whitewash of the West Indies last month and the fast-scoring form of England's batsmen is the chief hope for the side to win their first global 50-over trophy this summer.
Jos Buttler's form has been particularly noteworthy in recent weeks, with his spectacular 77 from 37 balls for Mumbai Indians last week suggesting he is back to his best after a difficult winter.
