Serena Williams will face off against Angelique Kerber in what promises to be a thrilling ladies' final on Saturday (9th July) in the Championships, Wimbledon 2016.
Both players have been in excellent form throughout the tournament so far and it is expected to be a tight encounter - especially given the recent win for Kerber in the Australian Open over Williams.
However, Serena is expected to be out for revenge and the atmosphere should be electric given the rivalry that continues to grow between the pair.
Williams booked her place in the final with a relatively simple 6-2 6-0 victory over Elena Vesnina yesterday, while Kerber overcame Venus Williams in a 6-4 6-4 match that saw the older Williams sister look somewhat out of sorts.
The stage is now set for a thrilling final that promises to have the fans on Centre Court on the edge of their seats. The power and skill of Serena will come up against the grace and technique of Kerber in what will hopefully be a close fought and competitive match-up.
Following her semi-final victory last night, Kerber told the BBC: "I have a lot of experience now. I'm really enjoying my tennis life. I'm playing my best tennis. I will give everything I can in the final."
Getting underway at 2 pm on Saturday on Centre Court, the Wimbledon crowds will undoubtedly be packing the venue to the rafters and it promises to be another exciting day for women's tennis.
