They say it is better to be overdressed than underdressed, yet dressing for the occasion is key when it comes to hospitality. You wouldn’t wear your little black dress or black tie to the Rugby or your jeans and trainers to Ascot would you?

 

For the non-fashion connoisseurs among us, here is our dress code guide:

 

Casual means pretty much anything goes, but no sandals, vests or ripped clothing.

Smart casual is a dressed-up version of casual, for example smart jeans or chinos with a polo or button up shirt for men and a casual dress or trousers for women.

 

Business casual usually means trousers and a shirt for men and a dress with jacket or trouser suit for women.

 

Black tie is very formal, a black tie worn with a dinner jacket for men and a formal evening dress for women.

 

In short, it is best to dress for the occasion. Don’t wear something you aren’t sure about, be cool and comfortable!
